"I have been a State Farm customer for about 15 years now. Generally I have been pleased with the service I have received, particularly with the Automotive insurance. My Homeowners Property Claim experience has not been as satisfactory. I had a 15 year old roof with hail damage that developed some leaks. They only wanted to replace a few shingles versus a full roof replacement. Their estimate surprisingly enough came up just under my deductible. I chose to have the whole roof replaced and paid for it out of my pocket. I wasn't going to replace a roof that old, bit by bit, and risk further leaks. Which is exactly what they wanted."
